Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that South African investment banker, Phume, is currently catching the smoke over her insensitive tweet of colleagues using their children as “excuses” at work. (Read More Here).

Taking to her Twitter page, Phume, tweeted that some colleagues are fond of using their kids as a form of excuse to leave work or office (according to her), without them knowing that they are causing inconveniences to their co-workers.

She gave a few instances where colleagues use their kids as excuses and she wrote:  ‘I’m going to fetch my kids from school, let’s meet later.’ ‘My kid is sick, let’s move it.’

Phume 22 wrote: “There are so many things that colleagues do that affect us. ‘I’m going to fetch my kids from school, let’s meet later.’ ‘My kid is sick, let’s move it.’ To you those are valid excuses but for the next person, it’s an inconclusive. Now who am I to call you out during the peoplw?”

After sharing her tweet, a Twitter user, John Doe, who seems to know so much about her, immediately dropped his 2 cents. According to John Doe, he says that Phume’s statement is the reason she left her son in Vyrheid for her family to help raise him.

South Africans are currently dragging her on Twitter. See their comments below.

John Doe wrote: “Phume, you said that because you left your son behind in Vyrheid for your family to raise. You don’t talk about him and there’s no trace of you being a parent. It must be nice.”

Ever seen the lack of Black parents in their kid’s school meetings or events? Some meetings fail to meet the needed quorum and its because of people like Phume that make attending such important meetings or events impossible.

This the tweet that Phume just deleted. Corporate environments are truly indoctrination centres where people get stripped off their individuality and turned into obidient, soul dead conformist members of the Capitalist consumer culture.

Ms Party

@Olwee

Phume’s tweet reads like those grinch-esque career women in hallmark Christmas films where they go home for the holidays and fall in love.

Phume as a boss means, you can’t complain about your mental health, family responsibility, fatigue, basically anything that delays her from taking pictures and going to the Gym is counter productive.

When I say I don’t like being managed by women of color, a lot of them are like Phume Horrible and always abusing their positions.

Lmfao Phume reminds me of when my manager asked me why did my brother decide to die just after i had come back from annual leave when i asked for family responsibility leave. I was an intern bruh,not doing anything groundbreaking. My absence. wasn’t gonna collapse the company.

Le tweet ya Phume says a lot about her as a person. I feel sorry for people that will have to report to her one day. Flushed face Imagine a person feeling inconvenienced because you are prioritising your kids.

The whole Phume issue confirms why I strongly encourage folk not to feel the need to explain your leave in the workplace. Take that one day and go buy yourself Icecream. Having to explain many issues makes them feel they are entitled to deciding what’s worth taking leave for.
