Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that South African Youtuber Thato Rampedi says that he will never set foot in Botswana following a horrible experience in the country recently. (Read More Here).
Rampedi was invited to an event together with five fellow Youtubers where they were to address attendants on online content making and other matters. (Read More Here).
He narrates that they were told to organize their own transport from Johannesburg to Rustenburg by the event organizers were to then pick them and bring them to Gaborone.
Going on with the story,event organizers are said to have arrived late for the pick up and the event was already finished by the time they arrived in the country.
People left the venue and only 12 people were remaining at around 5pm for a seminar which was scheduled for 1pm.
Logistics such as food were also not covered according to him.They had to find spots to buy food in an unfamiliar location.
Return transport was also not sorted.He and friends were further kicked out of a guesthouse as it was check out time yet return transport was unavailable.
They were then taken to a house belonging to one of the promoter’s friends to hang in there.
While they were at the house,the Promoter who booked them ran away without paying them stating he was going to fetch a laptop charger and never came back.
The Youtubers then paid their own return transport for P2500 from their own pockets.
Thato Rampedi is currently on vacation at a game reserve in Kenya and maintains will never come to Botswana.
