Thailand’s Cabinet has approved a bill to allow same-sex marriage.
It is expected to be debated in parliament next month.
If the bill is approved by parliament and receives royal assent, Thailand will become the first in Southeast Asia to legalize same-sex marriage.
The Thai parliament debated four laws, including civil unions for same-sex couples and marriage equality, last year.
However, the session ended before they came to a final vote.
