Thai police have arrested a pregnant woman, Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, suspected of murdering at least 12 of her friends and acquaintances by poisoning them with cyanide

Thai police have arrested a pregnant woman, suspected of murdering at least 12 of her friends and acquaintances by poisoning them with cyanide. 

Authorities believe Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn did so through food and drink, dating back to 2020.

However, police also say the death toll could be higher, adding that the suspect had been previously diagnosed with psychiatric issues.

Officers also speculate that the woman committed the murders for financial reasons.

Rangsiwuthaporn came under suspicion following the death of her friend, who had been found without her bag and jewellery.

The suspect is also reportedly married to a senior policeman, and she has now been charged with premeditated murder.
