Teachers in Semporna rescued 20 primary school students after they fell into the sea..
The incident occurred at Pulau Pababag, after a wooden jetty collapsed, causing the students to fall.
A viral video showed the teachers helping the SK Palabag pupils out of the water.
Semporna Umno chairman Abdul Manan Indanan reveals the children were not injured in the incident.
“I spoke to the Pababag village head who informed us that the incident occurred as the children were arriving for school.”
Manan adds that he showed a video of the incident to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid reportedly agreed to provide immediate funding to repair the jetty, after watching the video.
