According to the Civil Police of the DF, the death was initially registered as a suicide . In a note, Caixa expressed regret for the death and said that it contributes to the investigation of the case.
The Internal Control and Integrity Board (DECOI), headed by Batista, is where all complaints received through the service channel created by Caixa Econômica Federal are forwarded.
Batista was a career employee at Caixa – he joined the bank in 1989 – and took over the Internal Controls Board through a selection process in March 2022.
