The strange disease exhibited by some learners at Lunte Girls Boarding Secondary School last month was possible stress due to the poor living conditions at the institution because most of the pupils hail from well-to-do families.
Authorities have concluded that the diet, water and sanitation services at the school were not so good, hence could have caused the situation.
On June 26, 95 learners at the boarding school developed a non transmissible walking disorder, a condition which experts described as psychogenic.
The condition affected the girls’ mobility, with some reporting pain in some parts of their bodies. The school has 583 learners.
However, medical experts have found nothing toxic in the food, water and blood samples of pupils that were affected.
