Sri Lanka plans to decriminalize same-sex sexual relations, which can currently be punished by up to 10 years in prison under a colonial-era law.
Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Sabry told the Daily Morning, the government will support a private member bill initiated by an MP.
However, he told the Sri Lankan newspaper that the government will not be legalizing same-sex marriages.
