Popular American digital streaming application, Spotify, is finally available in Nigeria after years of its launch. Why it took so long for Nigerians living in Nigeria to have access to the application is still unknown.
Nigerians; especially fans of Wizkid (Wizkid FC) and Davido’s (30BG – Tatibiji gang) have started accessing and streaming their favourites’ songs. Fans of Wizkid are currently pushing “One Dance” by Drake ft Wizkid to hit 100M streams before Thursday.
The question now is: Can Spotify prevent Nigerians from downloading songs on music sites, such as: JustNaija, Naijaloaded, Trendybeatz, etc? If Audiomack couldn’t, can Spotify do it?
Spotify subscription fee/price for Nigeria is N900 monthly but in the US, it’s over N4,500. We just hope the price doesn’t go up. Apple Music, Boom play, Audiomack, YouTube Music, have a big competitor now.
