That’s why I’m trying to start a meaningful conversation about this issue and I’m attempting to open his eyes to how harmful this is to Native American fans as well Americans in general. I simply want him to learn and grow from this, I don’t mean to send any hate his way.
“Thank you to everyone supporting me, Justine and any other indigenous Rushers. K appreciate you all, truly.
“As a lot of you, a Heffron Drive Music video from 2016 was recently brought to my (and Justine’s) attention. This video features a white woman (Mica) playing the role of Native American heroine. In the video, Mica and Kendall heroine. In the video, Mica and Kendall also imitate what is supposed to be a train indigenous rain dance. The way Mica and Kendall portrayed Native American stereotypical and thus harmful. And yes, this is ‘red face’. As a native American fan, this is so very hurtful to see – especially since Kendall has gone his way in recent month to make me feel seen as an indigenous Rusher. The fact that this video seems to have flown under the radar until it feels, quite frankly like a giant slap to the face.”
