The cause for the accident could have been brake failures and overspeeding of the breakdown recovery vehicle. 

The deceased is a 36 year old female Traffic Officer, Itani Robinah Ravele , who was Traffic Officer, while she was doing the point duty at the scene of an accident.

The deceased is a 36 year old female Traffic Officer, Itani Robinah Ravele , who was attached to the Phalaborwa Traffic Station.

MEC for Transport and Community Safety Florence Radzilani sent messages of condolences to the Ravele family, friends and colleagues of the deceased, who served the Department with integrity and commitment to keep our people safe on the roads.

“We urge everyone to take extra precautions during this long weekend and follow the rules of the road. We also encourage everyone to continue treating our Traffic Officers with respect and always follow their instructions on the roads” said MEC Radzilani.
