Shamima Begum has lost a legal case over her British citizenship. This means that she will not be able to return to the UK.

In 2019, Begum had her British citizenship stripped away on grounds of national security, after she travelled to Syria to join the Islamic State.

However, her Lawyers would argue that the government’s repeated refusal to allow her back into the UK goes against her family’s rights.
