Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Shakira uses metaphors in lyrics as she revealed she’s heartbroken due to Pique’s cheating in new song, Monotonía, featuring Ozuna. (Read More Here).

Shakira has shared the video for “Monotonía,” her new bachata song with Ozuna. The bizarre clip—filmed in Manresa, Spain and co-directed by Shakira and Jaume de la Iguana—finds the Colombian singer taking a bazooka blast to the chest in a supermarket, leaving her looking for a place to safeguard her now dispossessed heart. It’s the latest clip from a new but unannounced project. Check it out below.

In April, Shakira shared “Te Felicito,” a collaboration with Rauw Alejandro. In 2020, she performed during halftime at the Super Bowl with Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin, and shared a new song with Anuel AA called “Me Gusta.”

On Wednesday, Shakira — who confirmed her split from Gerard Piqué earlier this year — released her track “Monotonía” alongside Ozuna. In the new song, the Colombian singer seems to allude to the end of her marriage with Piqué.

In the clip, she’s minding her own business, shopping for snacks, when she’s blown away, literally, when she encounters a former love played by Ozuna. During their run-in, her past paramour shoots her in the chest. But despite the tragic occurrence, she finds a way to tend to her missing heart, even as people trample over it in the street, showcasing resilience even in the midst of major heartbreak.

Shakira also released a trailer for the video, which the singer in sunglasses at a grocery store while her track “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro plays in the background.

On Instagram, she shared a video of the single’s cover art, which features the title of the track in front of a heart with a sword through it. “A small king with a super queen,” wrote Ozuna on the post. In another post, Shakira holds what seems to be a human heart.

Shakira spoke to Elle magazine in September about her separation from her soccer player ex after Piqué was accused of cheating on the singer.

“I’ve remained quiet and just tried to process it all. It’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation,” she said. “And so it’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult. I have paparazzi camping outside, in front of my house, 24/7.”

Marking the first collaboration between Shakira and Ozuna, “Monotonía” follows the singer-songwriter’s Latin Airplay chart-topping song “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro, where she calls out her significant other and congratulates them on a stellar performance making her believe he truly loved her.

In the music video — which Shakira co-directed with longtime collaborator Jaume de la Iguana — she has an encounter with the ex at a grocery store where he blows up her chest and her heart is ejected from her body. She then runs around with her beating heart in hand until she hands it over to Ozuna, who takes it from her and puts it in a safe box.

Shakira, 45, spoke about the breakup in her recent cover star for Elle.

“I feel like in this moment of my life, which is probably one of the most difficult, darkest hours of my life, music has brought light,” she said. “I’ve remained quiet and just tried to process it all. Um, and yeah, it’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation. And so it’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult.”

In the rest of the video, Shakira fights to save her heart despite being presented with many obstacles and at the end, manages to safely guard it in a box, but manages to raise a smile whilst looking down at the key that opens it – seemingly hinting that one day she will get to it again.

Shakira has had quite the tumultuous year. Not only did she separate from her boyfriend of eleven years, but she has been the subject of a $13.9million tax evasion case by the Spanish government.

Speaking about her break up to Elle last month, she admitted: “It’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult.”

Shakira detailed that going through all her latest hardships isn’t easier when it all happens in the spotlight, revealing: “I have paparazzi camping outside, in front of my house, 24/7. You know, we can’t take a walk in the park like a regular family or go have an ice cream or do any activity without paparazzi following us.”
