Seven zama zama kingpins were arrested this morning when the Hawks raided their homes in Carletonville and Khutsong

The Hawks in Gauteng together with SAPS are conducting an operation on the illegal mining king pins residences in Carltonville and Khutsong. 

6 suspects have been arrested, including foreign nationals.

The multi-disciplinary team is also seizing their luxury vehicles.

Information reads: “Seven zama zama kingpins were arrested this morning when the Hawks raided their homes in Carletonville and Khutsong. Nine luxury cars were seized at the residences. Zama Zamas are employees of a powerful criminal syndicate.”
