Livhuwani Madadzhe, popularly known as comedian SABC Livhu, was arrested this afternoon in connection with the death of his wife, Lindelani “Mmea Muofhe” Nengovhela.
Her body was found this morning at their home in Mangani Ha-Sidou.
Tragic: A Limpopo comedian allegedly murdered his wife and dumped her body in the basement toilet.
If women continue to refuse to let go of violent relationships, then we will never be able to abolish gender-based violence. Most wives of murderers don’t succumb on the first try, and there are always warning flags. Many women stay in an abusive relationship because they believe their husband will eventually become the man they dream of. According to those in the know, a leopard can never change its spots, thus I advise all my female readers to leave any relationship in which a man has physically abused them.
We were all taken aback a few weeks ago when the wife of a well-known comedian from Limpopo, livhuwani Masadzhe, decided to withdraw the charges of domestic abuse against her husband. Her husband had previously beaten her with a sugar cane and burned her buttocks with a hot iron, prompting her to take this drastic measure. A lot of people have been telling this woman to leave her abusive husband, but instead of listening, she insults them and tells them to mind their own business. Despite knowing that livhuwani was having an affair with a minor, she stayed in the relationship for a few more weeks.
Sadly, we awoke to some devastating news this morning. There have been allegations that Mia Muofhe, the wife of a well-known Thohoyandou comic, was discovered dead this morning. She was supposedly discovered dead in a toilet cistern with signs of violence. Her spouse has disappeared and is thought to have murdered her before fleeing the scene. Blood was found on a Hummer that authorities believe was used in the murder, and it was discovered at the site. The police are still processing the area as we take these photos, and several curious neighbours have gathered nearby.
This is a tragic development in an ongoing story. Gender-based violence typically comes from a spouse or other close family member. Husbands in South Africa have evolved into monsters, so their wives can no longer seek safety in them. With the hope that justice will be done, may her soul rest in peace.
