Mykhailo Mudryk

Mudryk was absent from the Blues’ opening training session on Wednesday. As it stands, it remains to be seen exactly why the winger was not present but he is carrying a minor knock.

What Pochettino has said: “I think maybe a few days. He is not going to be available for tomorrow. Very disappointed because of the situation, he played 45 minutes against West Ham.

“He is a player we hope to help play in the way believe he can perform. Disappointed but at the same time it is not a big issue. Maybe one week or a few days.”

Big-spending Chelsea completed the signing of midfielder Romeo Lavia from Southampton on Friday.

The Blues are reported to have forked out £53 million for the 19-year-old, who has played just 29 times in the Premier League, in a deal that could potentially rise to to £58 million.

It is the second time in a week that Chelsea have beaten Premier League rivals Liverpool to the signature of a highly rated midfielder after Brighton’s Moises Caicedo chose Stamford Bridge over Anfield in what was a British record fee of £115 million.
