Indigenes of Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State were seen leaving the community in droves Friday morning safety of their lives. (Read More Here).
According to Peter Dee, the development came just as there was a pandemonium in the community in the early hours of today, Friday April 1st, 2022, following the killing of four persons.
A local confirmed to our correspondent that four members of a faction of OSPAC were killed in the attack carried out by gunmen suspected to be members of ‘disbanded’ rival of same OSPAC.
Our source, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the killing reasonably suspected to be in connected with the ongoing battle for control of Illegal levy collection otherwise known as ‘matching ground’ by members alleged to be cultists.
Recall that two persons said to be members of one of the factions of ‘disbanded’ OSPAC were killed in the Ibaa community in February this year.
Although the acting spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, DSP GRACE IRINGE-KOKO confirmed that only one person was killed then.
Police in the state are yet to speak on the killing in Ibaa community.
Ibaa community is notoriously known for bunkering activities and incessant chieftaincy and politically motivated killings
