Rep. George Santos, indicted last month on 13 counts including fraud and money laundering, REFUSES to reveal the names of the people who cosigned his $500,000 bail bond.
Even if it means jail time.
“My client would rather surrender to pretrial detainment than subject these suretors to what will inevitably come,” said Santos attorney Joseph Murray, who pleaded to a judge to block requests from news outlets to release the names of the bond suretors, claiming they would “suffer great distress” if their names were released.
For the time being, U.S. Magistrate Judge Anne Shields has kept the names concealed at the lawyer’s request. Do you believe the names of the people who cosigned Santos’ massive $500,000 bail should be revealed, or kept hidden?
