ESPN reported that the Warriors are “aggressively investigating” who leaked the video of Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole at a team practice Wednesday. They are taking “every legal course of action” to find the source, per ESPN.

Fights at NBA practices are not horribly uncommon, but the recent incident in which Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green punched teammate Jordan Poole is unique in the fact that a video of the incident was released to the entire world by TMZ on Friday morning.

It’s easy to entertain conspiracy theories regarding who might have leaked the video and why (does Warriors ownership not want to give Green a contract extension, so they’re using this to prime the public for a divorce? Does the practice videographer have a personal vendetta against Green for some reason? Did Green himself want the world to know that his right hook could kill a small animal?). As of yet, there haven’t been any hints as to where the footage came from. But the likeliest scenario, based on historical precedent and common sense, is that TMZ paid a team employee a large sum of money for the video.

The notable practice altercation from earlier this week between former Spartan Draymond Green and former Wolverine Jordan Poole is now available to watch thanks to TMZ Sports.

TMZ Sports got their hands on leaked practice footage from the day that Green punched Poole and published that on Friday morning. Up until this point, there had been reports from inside sources on the altercation and what led to it but no actual footage for us to watch.

It shows Green and Poole had their beef and were talking, Green walked up on Poole, then Poole pushed him away with two hands and Green came back with a vicious punch to the face that was a massive escalation.

The Warriors do not practice on Friday and nobody from the organization is scheduled to speak to the media. Green is expected to rejoin his teammates in practice on Saturday, coach Steve Kerr said previously.

The Warriors likely will say this changes nothing, they had already seen the video before settling on a punishment. Plus, punches have been thrown in NBA practices more times than anyone could count — including Kerr getting punched by Michael Jordan in a legendary Bulls practice.
