Tsotsi star Presley Chweneyagae refuses to pay papgeld for his 16-year-old son. Presley has been called out for being a deadbeat father to his 16-year-old son.
The actor was mentioned on the No Excuses, Pay Papgeld show, as the babymama narrated how he’s failed to support the son since he was born.
The actor’s baby mama, Alletta Somfula — who says she has taken him to court three times — exposed him on the popular Moja Love show called Papgeld; a show that encourages parents to be active in their children’s lives.
Somfula further told Zimoja that she has five court orders against Chweneyagae, but she has not been successful in getting him to pay maintenance for their son who is now in grade 10.
“I am not a bitter baby mama but I want what is best for my child,” she is quoted as saying. “All he knows is to ask my parents for my child to visit him, when I am not around, and not buy him anything,” she added.
Alletta accepted her situation and moved on to single motherhood. Two years later, she went with Chweneyagae for paternity tests, which came out positive. For Alletta, this was a good omen that the Tsotsi star would finally pay maintenance for his son, but it was not to be.
She is enraged:
“I hate him with a passion. I am a father and mother to his child. He is 16 years, and the pressure from peers is overwhelming. I thought when Presley asked for DNA, he was going to change, but he is still the same. What irritates me the most is the fact that he is taking care of his other two kids. I don’t want anything from him except for him to take responsibility for his son.”
Chweneyagae’s son is growing older, and his financial needs are increasing, and the burden is becoming unbearable for Alletta.
