President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, Mallam Abba Kyari has died of COVID-19.

Abba Kyari has become the first senior public figure to die of COVID-19. 

Mallam Abba Kyari passed away yesterday, 17th of April, 2020 but his death was announced by Bashir Ahmad in the early hours of Saturday. 

Abba Kyari tested positive for COVID-19, shortly after he returned from Germany.

Bashir Wrote: “If yoy just woke up, our boss, Mallam Abba Kyari, the chief of staff to the president, has passed away. He died last night from the deadly pandemic, #COVID19
