President Muhammadu Buhari appoints Ibrahim Agboola Gambari as new Chief of Staff.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new Chief of Staff, whose name is Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari CFR. Professor Gambari is a 75-year-old diplomat, who hails from Kwara state.

Professor Gambari takes over from Late Mallam Abba Kyari after he died of COVID-19 in April. 

Professor Gambari was the former Minister of External Affairs(between 1984 and 1985) during the military regime of President Muhammadu Buhari. He was also the president of UNICEF from 1999 to 1999 and Nigerian Ambassador to the UNITED NATIONS from 1990 to 1999.
