A 42-year-old master of the sunk fishing vessel “Letcia Clara” was rescued after eight hours of clinging to a buoy.
According to reports, the master’s scream alerted people at the Pedrógo beach, who discovered him on the beach’s bank.
When he was rescued, the man was said to be in hypothermia but conscious.
The whereabouts of the vessel’s crew, which included one Moroccan and two Indonesians, are unknown following the mishap.
The National Maritime Authority, Air Force planes and the corvette Joo Roby, Maritime Police, Firefighters, and the GNR are all involved in the search for the missing members.
