Police have arrested and paraded Christopher Akpan for killing his fiance and an NSCDC (National Security and Civil Defence Corps) official, Josephine Cynthia Inalegwu Onche. (Read More Here).

According to reports from the police, Christopher Akpan killed his fiance because he didn’t want to pay back the N14M she borrowed him. He killed her on December 2019, but the court case recently started.

In an attempt to ran completely from the debt, he decided to kill her. He also buried her body/corpse in a shallow grave in a forest. Christopher killed his wife-to-be, Josephine, a few days to their wedding in Benue State.

After the news went viral, Nigerians began to wonder what Akpans have in common with shallow graves. This incident took Nigerians back to Uduak Frank Akpan, who killed Iniobong Umoren Ephraim and buried her body in a shallow grave.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba says:

“In the course of the relationship, several financial transactions took place and it is believed that Onche had handed over a large chunk of money to her lover.

“Between Dec. 19 and 20, 2019, Onche had visited her lover, who lured her to the house of a native doctor in Benue, where she was murdered. Her body was taken to a forest where she was buried in a shallow grave.

“He had promised to pay the native doctor N5 million out of the N14 million he collected from Oche.”
