Police have arrested a married couple on suspicion of abusing their niece and nephew at a condominium in Taman Cahaya Ampang.

Earlier, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department saved the eight-year-old boy who attempted to escape through a window on the building’s fourth floor.

The boy had reportedly been locked in a room.

Police say that the female suspect is the younger sister of the children’s mother, who did not wish to care for them.

The children’s father passed away two years ago. The suspects, aged 29 and 33, were arrested yesterday evening.

Police also found bruises on children’s body parts. The boy, 8 and the girl, 6, have been referred to the Ampang Hospital for medical check-ups while the Welfare Department has been notified.
