Police fired tear gas to disperse a crowd of Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) supporters outside the nomination centre in Tenom, Sabah. 

It is believed KDM president Peter Anthony’s nomination was rejected by the Election Commission due to his court conviction.

Videos have gone viral on social media showing the supporters running and shouting outside the nomination centre.

Anthony is reportedly still trying to negotiate with election workers to be a candidate for the Tenom parliamentary seat.
