“Poblacion girl” Gwyneth Anne Chua, the Filipina traveler who skipped mandatory quarantine protocols last December, pleads guilty to violating law on mandatory reporting of notifiable diseases. She is fined P20k, says Makati Prosecutor Rafael Rodrigo Esguerra.

Chua appeared before Judge Maureen Rubio-Marquez of Makati City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 128 this morning, accused of violating Republic Act 11332 or the “Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act”.

Poblacion Girl fined 20K. In contrast, a covid-stricken Senator Kuckold Pimentel went to SnR & Makati Medical Center in Mar 2020, deliberately contaminating other innocent lives. He was never punished for it. DOJ under Menardo Guevarra just exonerated the erring cuckold.

For context, Chua was charged for violating section 9(d) of RA 11332, which imposes a fine ranging from P20,000 to P50,000, imprisonment for 1 to 6 months, or both. She was eventually fined P20k by a Makati Metropolitan Trial Court judge.

Gatbonton’s lawyer, Jose Bernas, says Chua’s guilty plea will not affect his client’s case since it’s separate. Says prosecution has to prove security guard has the obligation and the power to detain a person under quarantine.

However, the case against security guard Esteban Gatbonton will continue as he earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Gatbonton is a security guard at Berjaya Hotel who allegedly facilitated Chua’s escape from the quarantine facility.

He refused to comment.
