PKR president Anwar Ibrahim says that Tian Chua will be automatically removed as a member of the party, for contesting as an independent at Batu.
Anwar explains that this was according to the party’s policy.
Tian Chua has been with PKR since the 90s.
Anwar adds that he views Tian Chua’s move as “unfortunate”.
“He has been a dedicated reformist, and I don’t think this is what a reformist should do. So we have to take necessary action,” he told reporters while at Tambun.
However, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli says that any action that was to be taken against Chua, will be done after the elections.
He adds that everyone has a right to contest, and Chua’s presence in Batu could motivate other candidates like PH’s Prabakaran to work harder.
