An incredible Coronation Portrait of The Royal Family 🤩 

The Duke of Kent, Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence, King and Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Alexandra, and Duke of Edinburgh.

A group photo showed King Charles and Queen Camilla with working members of the royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton.Also in the picture were the Duke of Kent, the Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Gloucester, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Princess Anne, Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Alexandra and Prince Edward the Duke of Edinburgh.

To cap off the coronation weekend, King Charles also released a special message in conjunction with the portraits. Buckingham Palace has released official portraits unveiling King Charles III resplendent in his royal regalia to round off the monarch’s extraordinary Coronation weekend.

The King and Queen pledged to rededicate their lives to service as Charles called the nation’s support throughout the historic celebrations ‘the greatest possible Coronation gift’. The special Bank Holiday weekend to mark the King’s Coronation was the first in 70 years, since the crowning of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

Among the official portraits was one of the King was captured in his full regalia, wearing the Imperial State Crown, holding the Orb and Sceptre with Cross.

The official portraits show King Charles III and Queen Camilla in all their majesty in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace, and surrounded by their fellow ‘working royals’.

The King and Queen can be seen both separately and together, both the very picture of calm dignity despite the strain of the day.

Echoing the famous 1953 coronation portrait of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Charles is seated and wearing the Imperial State Crown. 

In his right hand he hold the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross featuring the magnificent Cullinan I diamond and in his left The Sovereign’s Orb, representing that his power is derived from God.

The Imperial State Crown, the centrepiece of the crown jewels, is formed from an openwork gold frame, mounted with three very large stones, and set with 2868 diamonds, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 269 pearls. On Monday, Buckingham Palace released the first official portrait of King Charles.

For the monarch’s solo shot, King Charles was in full royal regalia in the Throne Room, wearing the Imperial State Crown and Robe of Estate while holding the Sovereign’s Orb and Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross. For the portrait, he sat on one of a pair of 1902 throne chairs that were made for the future King George V and Queen Mary for use at the coronation of King Edward VII.

The note was signed, “Charles R,” standing for “Rex,” the Latin word for King.

While King Charles’ official portrait shows him in the Imperial State Crown, he wore two crowns on his coronation day. During the ceremony, he was pronounced King with the St. Edward’s Crown, which weighs nearly 5 lbs and was first created for King Charles II in 1661. However, he exited Westminster Abbey in the Imperial State Crown. This particular crown is slightly less heavy — but just as stunning with its 2,868 diamonds and colored stones, including 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 269 pearls.
