A resident of Guaraí surprised everyone in the city by installing air conditioning in his pet dog’s house. Wyomar Ramos de Araújo, 39, says he put the device on about three months ago to make Hana, a one-year-old German Shepherd, more comfortable. According to him, the dog is sensitive to the intense heat of Tocantins. On the hottest days of the year, the thermal sensation can reach up to 50° in some regions. According to records from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the temperature in Guaraí reached 40°C this Tuesday (22). The city is located in the north-central region of the state.
Araújo says that the idea of installing air conditioning came after a very hot day, when he got home and found Hana restless. “I gave her water, food and took her for a walk, but she was still in agony. I turned on the hose and gave her a bath. Hana was super happy. Then I realized the problem was the heat”, he explains.
According to Araújo, the dog approved the idea. “Wow, on the first day, she almost never leaves the house anymore. When she wants me to turn on the air conditioning, she keeps going in and out of there, as if she was letting me know it’s time.”
