Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Young Thug has a pot belly while looking chubby in court room for RICO trial.

The trial is properly underway now after a rough start to the proceedings yesterday. The judge was already frustrated with lawyers from both sides, even before the opening day proceedings. But he was even more frustrated with the prosecution after they failed to deliver all the text slides in their opening statement to the defense. As a result, the opening statements were delayed. The jury had to be dismissed while they sorted the problem of sharing the opening statements between lawyers.

Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, referenced the trend-spurring DS4Ever single during an opening statement on Tuesday. Specifically, he reminded jurors of the phrase’s history and meaning (more on that here) in connection with the prosecution’s argument that Thug is seen in a mirror selfie holding up what they claim is a Bloods sign.

“There’s nothing wrong with holding up a Bloods sign, but that’s not a Bloods sign. … That is a P,” Steel said. “Jeffery’s fingers are down. And what you’ll learn is that Jeffery just released with Sergio Kitchens, a performer known as Gunna, a song that is wildly popular around the globe. It’s called ‘Pushin P’ and it’s positivity. It means any circumstance you’re in, if you think positively about something, you can make it through. You’re pushing positivity.”

Jack is one of the most beloved workers at the Fulton County Courthouse, even if he did once swipe someone’s lunch.

He shows up dutifully and takes his job seriously, although many are probably unaware he’s there. At least until the bell on his collar announces his presence.

The jury selection process was completed in mid-November after 10 months of deliberating, and the jury now consists of 12 people. Seven Black women, two White women, two Black men, and one White man will decide Thug’s fate. The trial is expected to last up to a year, so as things get underway, here are the biggest takeaways from the first day.

Thug and his five co-defendants all face charges of conspiring to murder, armed robbery, and participating in criminal street gang activity. Prosecutors in Fulton County, Ga. have accused YSL of being a front for a violent street gang that has allegedly had a devastating effect on Atlanta for over a decade. Thug is described as the leader of the YSL organization, which stands for Young Stoner Life. The state said when YSL members would get in trouble they would call young thug sister.

During the pretrial, the judge had a heated moment with Thug’s lawyer Brian Steele. While they were examining a witness brought in as a gang expert, Steele was frustrated with the prosecutions constant objections. When he described the evaluation as a “farce” the judge specifically warned him to not use that description. That was just one of numerous issues that emerged with lawyers throughout pre trial proceedings. What do you think of Young Thug’s lawyers explanation of his beef with YFN Lucci?

As a result of the failure of the prosecution to hand over all their material Young Thug’s lawyers moved for a mistrial yesterday. Despite his issues with the prosecutions handling of the proceedings, the judge denied the mistrial request. It’s the most recent in a series of issues between the lawyers in the case and the judge who is hearing it.
