Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that tributes rolling in as police officer, Mvelo Vura Gcabashe, was shot dead by 2 men while talking to his girlfriend outside her home in Inanda

A police constable was gunned down in Inanda last night.

According to a report, he had been talking to his girlfriend outside her home in Emachobeni when a silver-grey VW Polo pulled up. 

Two men jumped off and assaulted the constable until he fell to the ground.

During this time, the girlfriend ran into her house.

The suspects shot the officer in the head and under his arm before fleeing.

His service pistol and phone were taken.

The DPCI Provincial Tracking Team and DPCI National Priority Violent Crimes (Durban) are handling the case.
