Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Trailer truck hanging on I-64 West Richmond – Washington Mount NC road signboard as driver, Richard D. Houston, Jr, didn’t lower the tipper before accident.
A tractor trailer driver is charged in a single vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer that took out overhead highway signs this (Thursday) morning on Interstate 64 westbound at the 200-mile marker in eastern Henrico County. State Police’s Matt Demlein says a tractor trailer was heading westbound 64 shortly after 9:30am when the raised bed of the vehicle struck an overhead traffic sign.Â
The bed then separated from the cab of the truck and remained upright against the damaged sign. The bed was removed from against the sign at approximately 11am as westbound traffic was shut down for hours..
The driver of the tractor trailer, 62-year old Lorton resident Richard D. Houston, Jr, was not hurt. He has, however, been charged with reckless driving. The crash, which is near the westbound ramps to I-295 and Williamsburg Road, remains under investigation.
