Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Ridhi Patel held on $1M bail after being arrested for 16 felonies.
Court Commissioner Sally Ackerknecht, upon hearing from prosecutor Ken Russell, told Patel she also must stay away from the homes and businesses of those to whom her remarks during Wednesday’s meeting were apparently directed, among them council members, the mayor, city attorney, city manager and city clerk.
Patel’s contentious remarks directly threatened the council, stating, “You guys want to criminalize us with metal detectors,” followed by, “We’ll see you at your house. We’ll murder you.” She further escalated her rhetoric speech: “I hope one day somebody brings the guillotine and kills all of you motherf******.”
She called out “Navratri a festival of oppressors” during her speech and invoked Mahatma Gandhi and Jesu Christ just before she threatened the city council members.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, Patel, railing against recent security measures she said were installed as retaliation against protesters, said “We’ll see you at your house, we’ll murder you.” The threat was captured on video and has been widely distributed.
