Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Restaurant owner, Albert Botbol’s son held 4 employees on hostage with a knife as he is a cocaine addict in Pizza L’Olivier in Issy-Les-Moulineaux.

A hostage-taking took place this Saturday, November 16, 2024 in a restaurant in Issy-les-Moulineaux ( Hauts-de-Seine ). A man “entrenched” himself in a pizzeria with several people inside. After several hours of negotiation, the madman – who wanted to commit suicide – was arrested and the hostages were released..

It is 1 p.m. this Saturday when the police arrive on rue Ernest Renan . “I saw the police arrive earlier, it’s impressive,” explained Monique Teichet, a retiree and resident of the neighborhood to our colleagues at AFP.

Very quickly, the police cordoned off the area, installed red and white tape to block access and asked the many curious residents of the neighboring buildings to move away from their windows. On social networks, the Paris Police Prefecture indicated that an “intervention is underway, let the security and emergency forces work”, repeating a message from the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux speaking of an “incident in progress”.

According to information gathered on site by Actu Paris , the accused is the son of the manager of the pizzeria and he wants to commit suicide.

According to a source close to the case at AFP, he has the “profile of a drug addict”, and he had already “committed similar acts” at home in 2022 “with threats” of suicide. However, the man, aged around 35-40, is not known to the justice system. READ MORE HERE

After several hours of negotiation with a mediator from the BRI (Research and Intervention Brigade), “engaged because of the person concerned’s desire to commit suicide”, the man was finally arrested and the hostages released around 4 p.m.
