Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Owner of Taragis Takoyaki apologized on Facebook after pranking man, Sir Ramil Albano, to do forehead tattoo to win ₱100,000 on April Fool’s day prank challenge.
A takoyaki shop owner is sorry after receiving flak on social media after a netizen took their April Fool’s prank seriously and had the store’s logo tattooed on his forehead expecting that he’d be given the supposed 100k-peso cash prize.
Social media user Ramil Albano said that he didn’t see the disclaimer on the post and went on to get the tattoo and even posted a picture under the now-deleted post of the takoyaki brand’s Facebook page.
According to Albano, he needed the prize money for his youngest child’s tuition, as well as for his 16-year-old kid who has Down Syndrome.
Following the mishap, the takoyaki shop initially responded in an also now-deleted post that they claim no responsibility over the events that have occurred and reminded everyone of the importance of reading comprehension.
Some netizens criticized the shop’s response and demanded accountability.
“Hindi alam ng lahat ang kahulugan ng April Fools lalo na saming mga may edad na. Face the consequences of your actions,” one said.
Carl Quion, owner of the takoyaki store, has since apologized for the debacle.
A video posted on Tuesday, April 2 showed Quion visiting Albano to give him P100,000 in cash.
The owner said that it wasn’t their intention to harm other people with their April Fools post.
“Kaya sa mga nagkaroon ng negatibong pananaw sa naging April Fools’ post namin, humihingi ako ng tawad,” he said.
“At sana magsilbing aral ito sa ating lahat, lalo na sa mga kapwa influencers ko o brand na nasa internet na maging responsable tayo sa lahat ng ina-upload natin,” he added.
Several brands have also shown their concern to Albano, who even offered him cash rewards after the takoyaki shop earlier denied their responsibility over the incident.
