Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Mexican doctor, Dr. Lorde Dandy Rogelio, bought 2 pairs of diamond earrings from Cartier for MX $270 instead of MX$237,000 on December 12, 2023 on official website.
Rogelio, a Mexican who was browsing the French brand’s store, bought some Cartier earrings at a price much lower than the jewelry house assigns to the product.
This is an error in the official store in Mexico and one that they took advantage of not only with one pair, but with two. The amount for which he purchased the jewelry was 237 Mexican pesos, approximately 13 euros, and after checking that the price was correct, he paid both through the digital service of Paypal. This was a confusion, since the real cost was 237,000 Mexican pesos (13,000 euros) and it was obvious that someone had omitted three zeros when registering the product.
The case was presented to the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco), who is in charge of regulating this type of actions when a company fails to comply with a service. According to the buyer’s latest update, the ruling was in their favor and Cartier must deliver the earrings at the price at which they were purchased, an incredible price of 13 euros.
In the five months that the conflict has lasted, no one has given an inch. Cartier calls Rogelio tirelessly, hoping that he will agree to receive the bottle of champagne and the passport holder. “The Cartier representative calling and harassing me during my work hours,” he tweeted on X, where he takes what happens with great humor and asks the company not to charge any employee for the error.
This Monday, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Rogelio stated that the war was over and joked that he could now go to celebrate the Mexican victory over the French at the Angel of Independence.
