Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Luis Diaz opened ‘Libertad para papa’ shirt to celebrate his 95th equalizing goal today.

Luis Diaz’s mother has urged her guerrilla kidnappers to release her husband – eight days after he was captured in Colombia.

Diaz shared the message ‘Liberta Para Papa’ (freedom for dad) after scoring a last-gasp equaliser for Liverpool at Luton. The Colombian was making his first appearance since his father Luis Manuel Diaz was kidnapped, and negotiations continue over his release.

The 58-year-old was taken hostage at gunpoint alongside his wife on 28 October at a petrol station in Colombia. The incident occurred in the northern province of La Guajira, with Diaz one of the highest profile individuals in the nation due to his prominence with the Colombian national team.

Diaz’s parents were both seized by the rebel National Liberation Army (ELN) group. His mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was rescued by police but his father has been held captive since. It has now been eight days since the incident.

Ogbene: “You can’t fault the effort. We are disappointed to not come away with three points against a very good Liverpool team but it shows how far we have come.

“We play dynamic football and want to get the crowd on our side. Chong took his moment really well.”

Chong: “I think when I scored that late goal we were really confident of winning but they have a lot of quality and scored the equaliser. I am very proud of team.

“We have grown every single game. We are still learning and want to improve. We will take this as a plus.

“We want to create an atmosphere that is difficult for every team that comes here.”
