Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Lieutenant Colonel, Joe Coetzer, lost his leg after being shot multiple times by CIT robbers. 



Lieutenant Colonel Joe Coetzer sustained multiple gunshot wounds during Friday’s intense firefight, resulting in the unfortunate loss of one of his legs. This heroic determination occurred during the operation that led to the demise of 18 CIT robbers.


Heroic Cop Keeps Fighting Despite Severe Injuries


In a harrowing battle against a heavily armed gang of cash-in-transit robbers in Limpopo this week, a courageous member of the seasoned Hawks task force demonstrated unwavering determination.


After some series of cash-in-transit across the country, the SAPS were keeping an eye on a group of suspects who were allegedly planning a cash-in-transit heist in Limpopo. This group is suspected to be behind cash-in-transit in Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The police will continue to probe how the Zimbabwean ended up owning the house, which was used as a base for cash-in-transit across the country.


During the intense exchange of gunfire, which ultimately resulted in the demise of 18 criminals, Lieutenant-Colonel Joe Coetzer exhibited extraordinary courage. Tragically, the cost of his heroism was the loss of his right leg.


The Zimbabwean nationals have been linked to some serious crimes in the country. Even in he Thabo Bester ‘s criminal case, Zimbabweans are involved. This is the latest crime where a Zimbabwean national is involved, and a law enforcement officer nearly lost his life.




Colonel Matimba says police will continue fighting the crime, and warned that whoever is involved in cash-in-transit robberies, it is not the end. They are busy investigating and they will never stop. He says there are cases that are still under investigation, and they expect more arrests as investigation continues.
