Kenneth Smith, known as “the Jet”, is a former professional basketball player in the NBA who was born on March 8, 1965. He played for various teams including the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and Denver Nuggets from 1987 to 1997. Smith won two NBA championships with the Houston Rockets during his career.
Before joining the NBA, Smith played college basketball with the North Carolina Tar Heels, where he was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American in his senior year (1987). He was selected as the sixth overall pick by Sacramento in the 1987 NBA draft and was included in the NBA All-Rookie First Team while playing for the Kings.
