Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Jordan Davies is the man wearing balaclava who got arrested for attacking vigil for murdered girls with a knife in Southport centre.
Police have made an arrest after a balaclava-clad man was reportedly spotted carrying a knife in Southport town centre just yards from a vigil for the child victims of yesterday’s stabbings.
Eyewitnesses described seeing a balaclava-clad man being apprehended by police and arrested after showing a flick knife in public. Police said a report was received at 6.50pm that a man had been seen with a knife on, before officers attended and a man was detained at around 6.55pm. A flick knife was recovered.
“Every day we are carrying out stop checks, warrants and land searches to take knives off our streets, but as this incident shows, the assistance of members of the public in telling us where they are stored and who is carrying them is vital to ensure the safety of families and residents.”
It comes after hundreds of people turned out in the Merseyside seaside town this evening to pay respects to the three children who died in an attack on a dance class. Pubs, shops and restaurants had temporarily closed their doors to allow their staff to attend the vigil. During a moment’s silence, many people could be seen wiping away tears, and flowers were laid down in the area throughout the evening.
