Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Gypsy Rose Blanchard first mirror selfie has gotten over 2.1 million likes within 5 hours on IG.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE before her release, Gypsy said she’d change the past if she could. “If I had another chance to redo everything, I don’t know if I would go back to when I was a child and tell my aunts and uncles that I’m not sick and mommy makes me sick, or, if I would travel back to just the point of that conversation with Nick and tell him, ‘You know what, I’m going to go tell the police everything,'” Gypsy said. “I kind of struggle with that.”
Following Blanchard’s arrest, an investigation found that she was abused by her mother Dee Dee, who forced her to pretend she was disabled since childhood.
In the new mirror selfie, Blanchard could be seen posing in a pair of jeans and an ombre blue and white long-sleeved shirt, as she smiled for the camera. She appeared to have taken the picture in a hotel room, as two of her suitcases were opened on the floor.
She commemorated the new picture in the caption, writing: “First selfie of freedom!” In the years since her imprisonment, Gypsy’s story has been given the Hollywood treatment. Mommy Dead and Dearest, a documentary surrounding Dee Dee’s murder, premiered on HBO in 2017. Hulu offered their own fictionalized version of the events in 2019 drama The Act, where Gypsy was played by Joey King.
