Denise was quick to shut down the rumours and reassure fans that she was fine. She wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle. Thanks for your concern.” She added several embarrassed emojis to the post.

She now says the two are able to joke about the situation, expressing: “This is why it became a bit of a joke because years ago when they were just four teenagers making a lot of noise in the garage. I used to say ‘Get a job! Unless you are supporting the Rolling Stones get a job’.”

Holly Jervis joked: “It’s almost like I can hear her,” adding several broken heart emojis. Meena Reid also played along with the joke, adding: “Why are you hacking into a dead women’s account!”

Despite being hurt, Denise understood his dilemma and gave her blessing for Matthew to pursue the opportunity. “It hurt me, but I completely understood. It was a dilemma for both of us and it was hard. But I would have never said ‘You’ve got to,’ because the band was [on the rise],” Denise added.
