The final showdown of the OG Chapter is just hours away. And while it might be hard for the players to bid farewell to the month-long ‘nostalgia carnival’, the upcoming lineup in the game just keeps on sounding better. As the community is preparing for the much-awaited live concert Big Bang event in collaboration with Eminem, it’s also fueling curiosity about what Chapter 5 might have to offer to the players following the game’s newfound limelight. If all the rumors were to be trusted, the Big Bang event won’t be the end. Rather, it would only be a new beginning. We’re talking about “P…tear…Griffin, yeah yeah Peter Griffin!”

If accurate — and Fortnite fans will probably find out on Saturday, when the season-ending Big Bang event kicks off — it will mean the end of a years-long saga of Family Guy’s inclusion in the battle royale. Dataminers uncovered references to Peter Griffin back in 2021, in what was said to be a red herring; Epic Games’ developers were reportedly trolling Fortnite fans who liked to dig around its file structure. In 2022, there was another reference to Family Guy in an official Fortnite video, alongside hints pointing to Darth Vader and id Software’s Doom. Vader and the Doom Slayer eventually made their way to Fortnite, but no Peter Griffin… yet.

Solid Snake from Konami’s Metal Gear franchise appears to be joining Peter Griffin in Fortnite Chapter 5 season 1, according to artwork that reportedly appeared on the Xbox dashboard on Friday. Snake’s appearance in Fortnite isn’t too surprising, as he’s made guest appearances in Super Smash Bros., Monster Hunter, Scribblenauts, and Ape Escape games in the past.

Fortnite Chapter 5 season 1 starts this week. In addition to an appearance from rapper Eminem, the new chapter will reportedly introduce a new Lego-themed mode, a racing mode, and a music festival.
