50 Cent is a suspect in criminal battery after throwing his microphone twice in frustration at it not working and hitting a woman, Bryhana Monegain, who has since filed a police report.

50 Cent’s attorney, Scott Leemon, denied the allegations that his client intentionally tossed the mic in her face. “Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone,” Leemon told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday, August 31. “Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”

50 Cent previously gushed about his L.A. show via his social media feeds. “My LA show was SIRE approved, he said man that was crazy! My little man could feel the love. 😆,” 50 Cent wrote via Instagram earlier on Thursday, sharing a backstage pic with his son.

According to TMZ, the victim’s account seemingly alleges that the injury was intentional, rather than accidental. Page Six sources say the victim was in a restricted area of the arena that she was prohibited from being in at the time the incident occurred.

50 Cent’s mic-throwing incident is the second such occurrence to make headlines in Hip-Hop in recent months. In late July, Cardi B was listed as a suspect for battery after hurling a microphone at a woman in a crowd during a performance. Cardi, who threw the mic after a drink was tossed on her by the victim, was ultimately cleared of all charges in relation to the incident.
