Taking to social media, Macklemore, dropped his two cents on the viral issue of Israel vs Palestine.

Macklemore wrote: “I stand with all humans. I Stand for peace. I Stand for love. I Stand for freedom. And because of that, I Stand for a free Palestine and an end to the looming genocide of its people.

“By no means am I an expert on this conflict. I’m relatively new to this and learning as I go. There’s 75 years of Palestinian occupation and deeply rooted pain on both sides, stemming back far before I was born. But there is no side to take when it comes to our collective human spirit. I don’t have to be an expert to inherently know this. We all have a and w platform to stand for what is right and just.”

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ debut album, “The Heist,” was released in 2012 and featured the hit singles “Thrift Shop” and “Same Love.”

The latter became an anthem in the struggle for LGBT rights and for supporters of same-sex marriage. The duo performed it with Madonna at the Grammy Awards ceremony in 2014, where they scooped four prizes: Best New Artist; Best Rap Album (“The Heist”); and Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance (“Thrift Shop”).
