Death is inevitable because it’s a ‘phase’ everyone on earth must go through. Nigeria has lost one of her finest public and motivational speakers, Mr. Ubong King. He was only 48 years when he passed away.
According to reports, he died of COVID-19. His wife, Amb Unyime-Ivy King, revealed in a statement:
“This is an open post to everyone just to respond to all who have tried to reach me that I’m unable to respond to because of the volumes of calls coming in.
“I will be unavailable for a while after this post so my children and I can process in private. All I want to say right now is that my everlasting date Ubong King has completed the short 48 years assignment that our Lord asked him to do and he’s at peace now.
“This is in response to all the calls I can’t pick just now. Please bear with me. I need to keep my mind strong so love me from a distance and pray for us all. I can’t do RIP yet – Maybe later. But the family and I are stable and God’s in our corner.
Jesus is still my king.”
Nigerians have taken to their various Twitter pages to pen the most painful tributes to late Ubong King. Mr. Ubong King was a graduate of Unical (University of Calabar).
Nigerians tributes to him:
OMG!
I can’t believe this!
May his soul rest perfectly in Christ

Mr King!! We just spoke a few weeks ago where you advised me about navigating some professional challenges. You were always on the move, as if you knew your time here with us was limited. You will never be forgotten. Rest well “My Oga”. #UbongKing RIP💔 pic.twitter.com/rD4tZfOXlW

@ubongking was a supporter of my works and a graduate of my Alma Mater, University of Calabar and I am so depressed at the news of his death. This country has lost a great man to #COVIDー19

There would come a day where our labor would be returned to dust but the impact we have made lives forever.
I watched your video on YouTube for the first time, only a 5 minute session, I ended up praying for over an hour.
Rest on Ubon King
Rest on Legend. #ubongking pic.twitter.com/xZQGyvDAmK— Oluwatomilola MUSTAPHA ™ (@Tomilola_Brain) December 27, 2020

It’s not about 2020 having a sting rather it’s about 2020 teaching us to value things that matter… 2020 has taught us to be health-conscious, have food at home, pave way for others and live impactful lives… #ubongking ‘s death has left me in a self-reflection mood all day. pic.twitter.com/FNnsmZxoYz
