“Is it giraffe or sauropod?” – Fans asked after RAIKOU released of new Pokemon paradox design.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC will feature several new Pokemon, including several new Legendary Paradox Pokemon. Today, The Pokemon Company revealed the new Pokemon Dipplin, a new Pokemon that is a regional evolution of Applin, and a new Pokemon called Archaludon, which is the evolved form of Duraludon. Two new Legendary Paradox Pokemon were also teased, based on Raikou and Coballion. Furthermore, the Teal Mask release date was announced, with the first DLC coming out on September 13th.

The new DLC features four Pokemon based on the Mamotaro legend, with players encountering Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti in the new region on their way to confront the Legendary Pokemon Ogerpon in the brand new area of Kitakami. The DLC will also feature a traditional festival similar to a Japanese summer festival. Several new minigames were also revealed, including one involving a photo contest and one that involves riding either Koraidon or Miraidon through riding challenges.

Mysterious and seemingly hailing from different points in time, Paradox Pokemon are strange new Pokemon that can be encountered throughout the Paldea region in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Each of these new Pokemon is based on critters already familiar to fans, though they sport different designs and types, which often appear to take inspiration from either futuristic or prehistoric concepts. 2023’s Pokemon Presents event featured a plethora of announcements for the franchise going forward, including the reveal of two new Paradox Pokemon, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. These two Pokemon are version-exclusive and obtainable through special Tera Raid events that will run between February 27 and March 12, 2023.

The latest entries to the world-famous series of Pokemon games have given its community plenty of new creative inspiration thanks to the introduction of Paradox Pokemon, and one fan has set about creating their own Paradox Form for the Legendary Pokemon Raikou. While Pokemon fans have illustrated their own Paradox Forms for a vast number of the existing creatures by now, the recent reveal of Walking Wake during the Pokemon Presents event back in February has spurred many creative players to create Paradox versions for the other Legendary Beasts.
