The youngest daughter of late Nelson Mandela and Winne Madikizela-Mandela has died at aged 57. She became South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark in 2015.
According to South Africa’s news network, SABC, confirmed that Zindzi died in a hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa but the cause of her is still unknown.
“Zindzi will not only be remembered as the daughter of our struggle heroes, Tata Nelson and Mama Winnie Mandela, but a struggle heroine in her own right. She served South Africa well,” Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations said on Monday morning in a short statement.
South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa has reacted to the death of late Zindzi Mandela, “I offer my deep condolences to the Mandela family as we mourn the passing of a fearless political activist who was a leader in own her right. Our sadness is compounded by this loss being visited upon us just days before the world marks the birthday of great Nelson Mandela”.
Late Nelson Mandela died in 2013 at aged 95. In few days, Nelson Mandela’s birthday will be celebrated by South Africans.
