National Identity Management Commission has ordered the immediate shut down of all its enrollment centres in five states, which are: Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Anambra and Katsina.
The move is important to prevent workers and applicants from becoming vulnerable to the fast spreading virus, corona.
All enrollment activities at the NIMC have been suspended, such as: registration, collection of cards and slips and other related activities are suspended till further notice.
The shutting down of NIMC is not to create panic but to prevent the spread of the corona pandemic.
